Holiday Poinsettia Sale started Monday with orders due by November 19th!

Monday was the start of our Holiday Poinsettia Sale. Each family is requested to participate in this important fundraiser for the Rockdale Magnet School by selling at least 1 order. You are encouraged to present the beautiful poinsettia plants to your family,friends, church decorating staff, church members, and business associates by directing your customers to the link to our website URL, https://www.rockdalemagnetfund.com/poinsettia-sale to place their orders. This year, we have added beautiful, custom Christmas tree ornaments (designed and produced by our very Magnet Inc. Entrepreneurs club) to our sales offering. Please order the ornaments along with a beautiful poinsettia plant. All orders should be placed at the link above.

Important Dual Enrollment Information Meeting this Tuesday!

Interested in earning free college credit or a technical degree in high school? Attend the Dual Enrollment Information Meeting November 9, 2021, 6:30-8 p.m. at www.rockdaleschools.org/de. Hear from college representatives from GPTC, Clayton State, Point University, Georgia Military College.

RMSST celebrated that "Drug Free Looks Like Me" throughout last week's Red Ribbon Week events. Congratulations to 9th grade for winning the Goose Chase! Congratulations also to our two individual winners, senior Jocelyn Davis (1st Place) and senior Saraiya Allen (2nd Place), who won $25 gift cards for getting the most points through the Goose Chase challenges.

Please use the PDF below to see what is happening at Magnet each week organized by day of the week. Office hours are a great opportunity to ask your questions or complete assignments for the class while the teacher is available to assist with questions as you have them.

Most clubs and teams are still accepting new members, so now is the time to get involved if you have not already.

Free Tutoring! Access Tutor.com via classlink for live on demand help at home! AP courses are included!

Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) and Tutor.com, one of the world’s largest online tutoring services, have partnered to provide live, online tutoring services for RCPS students. Through this partnership, quarantined RCPS students in grades 6-12 can access live tutors on-demand, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from Tutor.com for 1-to-1 learning support. RCPS students in grades K-12 can access the same expert tutors afterschool.


The service provides homework help across more than 120 subjects, along with drop-off essay review and test prep.


This tool will provide supplemental help for quarantined students in grades 6-12 as part of the QUEST (Quarantine Education for Students) program. This will also provide online tutoring for RCPS students in grades K-12 afterschool. Spanish-speaking families and students will also be able to access live, Spanish-speaking tutors.


Students will be able to access Tutor.com through the ClassLink landing page in any internet browser on their school-issued laptop or device, which will automatically sign in the student to their account. Or they can visit https://launchpad.classlink.com/rockdale.

RVC Virtual Tutorials

RVC is providing online tutorials in Math, Science, and Spanish. Students can access the sessions by using the link ROCKDALE SOS TUTORIALS.

  • No School for Students- Thanksgiving Break- November 22nd-26th

Key Parent & Guardian Information

Friday, November 5th will be a teacher workday and parent/family conference day (No school for students)

Dr. Williams reached out to families of students who are currently failing two or more classes to schedule conferences for November 5th. Magnet teachers will also be reaching out directly to families for those students who are failing only 1 class. All conferences will be virtual via Microsoft Teams.

If you have not been contacted and would like to schedule a conference, please email Dr. Williams at cwilliams1@rockdale.k12.ga.us.

Submitting Excuse Notes

Excuse notes should be submitted within 3 days of your student’s return to school.

Excuse notes can be brought to Magnet’s front office or submitted online at https://forms.office.com/r/GpVB3RFTXq.

RCPS continues to offer free COVID-19 testing for students and their parents over the next several weeks. We do ask that you pre-register a day in advance by going to www.freecovidtesting.us and selecting Registration, then Covid testing, then Rockdale County Schools. This site will make you choose an appointment time, however testing is actually on a first come-first served basis on the dates and at the locations below.


October 25-28 954 North Main Street (12 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.).

November 13 Rockdale Career Academy (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.).
