MAY 10, 2023 - NEWSLETTER
SLPHS families,
Last Wednesday, we inducted 106 sophomores and juniors into the National Honor Society. These students have 3.7 GPA or higher, applied for induction, and are interested in pursuing service learning opportunities. This is the largest group I’ve seen inducted at one time at SLPHS. I am very proud of these students and the work they have done and continue to do to model and contribute to the academic climate and culture of our school.
Last Friday, teachers focused their communications efforts on students who were currently earning grades below a C. With just over four weeks remaining in the trimester, please take time to check in with your student on their progress in their learning and reinforce the importance of ending the term and school year strong.
Students will once again be able to keep their school-issued iPads at home over the summer and a few grade levels will be getting new iPads for next year. If you prefer our school keep the iPad over the summer or you are not returning next year, you’ll be able to turn in the iPad to the main office. See more details in today’s newsletter.
Finally, the Panther Foundation graciously provided yard signs again this year for each member of the Class of 2023. These signs were sent home with students today. If your senior did not pick up their yard sign, they can be picked up in the main office.

Plans for iPads this summer
This summer, Spring Lake Park Schools' families with students in grades K-11 will once again be able to keep their school-issued iPad at home for summer. If you prefer the school to hold the iPad over the summer, you will be able to turn it into the main office on the last day of school. Students have the opportunity to use their iPad for additional learning and resources and are expected to return with it for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Graduating seniors: Seniors who are graduating or unenrolling from the Spring Lake Park Schools district after this school year need to turn in their school-issued iPad, case and Apple charger. Seniors will return their technology on Thursday, June 8 during their rehearsal for graduation.
- Students not returning next school year: Students and families who will not be enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year should turn in their iPad, case and Apple charger to their home school office, or the District Services Center at 1415 81st Ave NE, Spring Lake Park, MN 55432.
- Looking ahead to 2023-24 for 5th, 6th and 9th grade: Students entering 5th, 6th and 9th grade will receiving a new iPad, case and charger. Watch for further communications for a summer exchange date.
For technology support visit the iPad Resource Hub or contact the Technology Services Department at techsupport@district16.org or 763-600-5555.
Outstanding School Fees: How to pay through Campus Parent Portal
As we near the end of the 2022-2023 school year, we ask that families pay any outstanding fees they may have acquired throughout the school year. Fees could range from technology to library books and music fees.
To check if your family has any outstanding fees and to pay for the fees, login to Campus Parent Portal and click on "Fees" located in the left-hand black column. We ask that families pay all fees by June 30, 2023.
Last chance for prom tickets
Tickets are still available for this year's prom "Moonlight Masquerade," which takes place on Saturday, May 13. The Grand March will be in the SLPHS Fine Arts Center starting at 6:30 p.m. Prom will be held at Quincy Hall in Minneapolis from 8-11 p.m. Purchase prom tickets today.
Class of 2023 Senior Spotlight
We have asked our graduating seniors to share their plans for the future, favorite experiences and what makes them Panther Proud. Each week, we will continue to share student spotlights as we celebrate the Class of 2023. Read more about each spotlight's time at SLP here.
