Changes in SPACE
New EDC for Gifted guidelines from HCS
HCS has redesigned the final portion of the identification procedure for gifted students this year. Once a student's screening and qualification or non-qualification has been approved by the district coordinator, HCS requires a new committee to meet and sign off on final paperwork for that student. The committee consists of the classroom teacher, the psychometrist performing any tests used during screening, and the gifted specialist overseeing the screening. That committee meets to look over the paperwork and sign. Total time spent on each child should only be a couple of minutes. We will work to do as many students as possible in each meeting.JW and WG will keep these meetings as efficient and brief as possible!!
