So this quote represents peoples stereotypes about color guard. People say guard isn't a sport and they are right, its not a sport, its so much more than that. It takes more dedication than most sports. We also have to deal with long hours, drama, fundraising, and injuries. We don't get any recognition what so ever, and you don't see us complaining.
So this pledge is a little extreme but it fits. In color guard you have to be dedicated and committed to guard.Honestly color guard is a lot of work and if you aren't committed to color guard you wont be in a part of the show or the whole show.If you have to sit out of a competition then it affects our whole performance. So if you are going to do color guard then you need to be prepared to commit to the team.
This quote represents how people express themselves.Yes, people get made fun of for showing their true character and it isn't fair. Well in color guard, we all show our true self and we don't judge. Sometimes we may not agree on somebody's behavior but we don't make fun of them for being themselves. So if you want to show your true self, you should join color guard because we won't judge you.
