Estacada High School
September 30, 2017
On Wednesday, October 11th, we will be having our annual PSAT test, ASVAB test, Clackamas Community College trip, as well as some other activities. A lot of activity on one day!
· 9th graders will be taken on a tour of Clackamas Community College
· 10th graders will be taking the PSAT test. To learn more about the test click on the link. This test can fulfill the Oregon graduation requirement for the Essential Skills of both reading and mathematics. For more information on the required Essential Skills graduation requirement, click on the link: Oregon Essential Skills.
· 11th graders will have the opportunity to take the ASVAB test. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.
· 12th graders should use this time to work on their graduation-required senior portfolio - community service (20 hrs), job shadow (4hrs), resume, goal setting. Please talk to your senior about what they will be working on during this time.
For 11th and 12th grade students, there will be an opportunity to work with some teachers in their classrooms during this day as well.
Thank you,
Bill Blevins, Principal

Snapchat - Now Blocked at School
Snachat has built its customer base on the false pretense of anonymity and privacy. Of course, when texts or images are sent through an internet server, that activity never truly disappears.
I realize that the vast majority of messages sent using Snapchat are merely harmless dialog between kids. But I also know that too many have used this vehicle for inappropriate communication.
Fire Drill
Your student's safety is paramount in our mission as educators. This week we had a fire drill that went orderly and safely. The office and counseling staff was able to give the all-clear in 5 minutes time after searching the entire building along with adjacent outbuildings.
This year, when classes reach their designated evacuation zone, the teachers will take role to ensure that all students are accounted for.
If you have any questions regarding the safety of our students, please contact me.
