A NOTE TO OUR FAMILIES
Families and Students,
Every New Year's Eve, people from all over the world gather together to reflect about the events of the past year. Richmond Community Schools, and Starr, has had SO many changes. We have lost some great people and welcomed some amazing new faces to our family. We have tackled new programs and dealt with new challenges head-on. The past year has been tough, but we have grown together and developed a deeper love of learning and for the children we teach.
And we have done it all together.
Which leads me to the best part about New Year's Eve. All of the people of the world gather together to think about the future. I am so excited to think about the possibilities of 2023. There are plenty of challenges ahead of us, but there are also going to be so many chances to celebrate the growth, the perseverance, the accomplishments, and the kindness of the people in our little family. I want to take this chance to thank you for the memories and ask for your continued support in 2023. If we all focus on our goal of making our students the best we can be and make them ready for the challenges of the world, it is going to be a wonderful year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Melissa Jordan

Changes to Dismissal
*Our students will be heading to the bus to head home or to the Clubs at 2:35. (1:35 on Tuesdays). All of our walkers and car riders will be leaving their classrooms to head out at our 2:40 bell. The end of the day is pretty hectic, and we want to make sure that all of our students get to where they belong. Last minute changes can lead to a student missing the bus or being on the bus instead of home. In order to make sure that all students are where they are supposed to be, we will not be doing any changes after 2:00 pm. If there is an emergency situation, we will happily do our best to make accommodations, but we will not be able to pull a child off of the bus or hold buses to put a child on. If you need to make a change to how your child is going home, please make sure you contact the front office at (765) 973-3426 BEFORE 2:00. Thank you.
*Attention K/1 parents: This is a reminder that your child cannot be released off of the bus if a guardian is not at the bus stop. Bringing students back to the school takes time, and that puts our buses behind schedule for other pick-ups. Remember, riding the bus is a privilege. If your student has to be brought back to the school, they will lose bus privileges for the following day. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
