Important Information

The following link has the STAAR powerpoint slide the 3rd grade teachers went over a few week ago. You will also find some helpful information on how to prepare/practice.

· We are doing a Math Fact Challenge in 3rd grade! Your child’s math teacher will explain the expectations so that their name can be on the big chart paper in the hallway saying they have them mastered! Please be working nightly on them to ensure mastery!


Research has begun on the animals! We will continue to research here at school. Directions for the at-home diorama will come home soon!

Thursday is our Library/Book Exchange day. Please make sure your child is bringing their library books to school on this day.

Please encourage your child to take advantage of the computer-based math programs your child can access from home! Contact me if you’ve forgotten the password information.

March 24-April 4th

RPE's 2nd and 3rd grade brownie troop is collecting food items for the LISD Backpack program from March 24-April 4. The Backpack Program provides kid-friendly meals for students in need at RPE and throughout the district. Collection boxes will be near the front office.

*All food items should be non-perishable, kid friendly & non-refrigerated. No glass please.

April 28th - full day of instruction (this is our bad weather make-up day)

  • · Please make sure your child is practicing those math facts. Our goal is to have 50 multiplication problems completed in 4 minutes!

    · Your child will be researching an animal of their choice. All research will be done at school. Please utilize city Libraries for other resources if necessary. Three different resources are required with a total of four. More information will be posted on the Third Grade website soon.
