Make Plans Now

The Board of Education approved three (3) delayed start days for the 2021-22 school year. The last delayed start date is Wednesday, April 6. Students will begin school two (2) hours later than normal. Students will need to arrive at school between 10:30-10:40 A.M. with the tardy bell at 10:45 A.M.

Students who ride the bus will simply add two hours to their normal pick up time. For example, if the normal pick-up time is 8:05 A.M., the pick-up time on September 22 would be 10:05 A.M. Teachers and support staff will report for duty at their normal time on April 6. Schools will utilize time with staff for needed training and professional development.

We’re so excited for upcoming musical performances from several different grade levels. If you have a student in one of these grades you’ll get information about what your child needs to wear, when to show up, and other important details soon. For now please save the date for these upcoming evening performances. Open to the public!

3rd Grade – International Dance Festival – March 29th 6:00 p.m.

Silent Auction Donations and Sponsorships Needed

Do you own a business? Want to get your name out? Please consider donating to the Prairie Ridge Silent Auction. This year's auction will be at the end of April. We welcome gift cards, free services, gift baskets, monetary donations, vacation rental properties, etc. All of our proceeds go directly back to our students and teachers.

We also have sponsorship opportunities available. Please contact us at if you can help.

Can you believe it's the last quarter already? Don't miss out on your opportunity to be a Watch D.O.G. this year! Please sign up for a time at the link below.

If you would like to be a Watch DOG but did not attend our orientation meeting in the fall, please email Mrs. Fulcher and she can send you the information that you need to get started.

Changes in the Lunchroom

It was great to see many families in the building for lunch this week. Thank you for signing up. I know that it is an extra step, but it has helped us manage and accommodate everyone. If a day is filled and you want to come and have lunch, please just send an email, and we will work to make it happen! I am hoping that we can move back to a non-sign-up format in August.

  • Please use the sign-up below if you would like to come and have lunch with your child. This follows board policy of making sure our visitors are pre-planned and helps us accommodate everyone.
  • Students and their guest will have special seating on our stage.
  • You may purchase an adult lunch at school. If you would like to do this, the cost is $4.35, and it is helpful if we know this in advance. Please call the PRE main number at 913-667-1800.
  • You may choose to bring food from a favorite restaurant to enjoy with your child.
