A Letter From Shannon 11/18/22
We are feeling incredibly grateful for our fantastic Cougar Run Family going into this Thanksgiving. This year has felt more back to normal than it has in several years and we couldn't thank you more for your incredible support thus far this year. We have lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday and we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating the things you are grateful for, too. We go into this break with full hearts following some great events that took place at Cougar Run. Last weekend our Choir performed at our Highlands Ranch High School Feeder Fest. Some of our feeder elementary schools, Cresthill Middle School and Highlands Ranch High School choirs all performed at HRHS on Saturday afternoon. The schools spent the day together learning songs together as well as practicing their own songs prior to the performance. It was a great testament of the community that our HRHS feeder has created. Thank you to all of you who showed up to support our kids and a shout out to Mrs. Baird, our choir teacher, for her commitment and work with these incredible students. Next was our Girls on the Run Club running in the GOTR 5K on Sunday. The club met on Wednesdays this semester focusing on mental health and wellness goals and commenced with the challenging task of running in this race. We are so proud of our kids and grateful for their coaches, Mrs. Bowman, Mrs. Kendall, Mrs. Pennell and Mrs. Bowman. Finally, Mrs. Woody out did herself this year with the incredible big top circus themed book fair. It was so fun to see the looks on the kids' faces when they saw the actual big top tent that was built in our library. A shout out to Justin McNeil, Ryan Ohrtman, Jaime Porter, Christine Garcia, Taylar Reilly, Mickey Morgan, Jennifer Castamore, Sue Shepler and Beckie McEachen for help with set up of the big top circus! Thank you to Alissa Schuessler, Megan Noraddin, Emily Thomson, Sarah Lebovic, Renee Barnes, Tony Venzor, Jennifer Brant, Marianne Margheim, Mattie Margheim, Adeline Kozlovic, Christine Baird, Teri Meyer and Margarita Fiduccia for working at the book fair. Wow, what an incredible community we have! We are so GRATEFUL!!!!

Soft Start and Cold Weather
Just a reminder that our “Soft Start” begins at 8:25 which is the time that the doors will be opened for students to enter for the school day. Students are NOT allowed to be dropped off prior to 8:25 because we do not have any adult supervision until that time. Teachers and staff are busy until that time preparing for our learning day and attending meetings. Our soft start times are the same, regardless of the weather! Students should be in their seats ready to learn by 8:40.
"Buy Your Child's Artwork" Ends Today!!
Hello Families! We have completed our artwork for my first of 2 fundraisers this year called “Art To Remember”. My inspiration for this project was Fish Scales! Your kiddos did a fabulous job of interpreting their vision and transforming them with watercolor paints and oil pastels.
You will see on the order form that you have multiple options of making keepsakes of their artwork to have at home or give as gifts!! All of the profits from this fundraiser go toward the Cougar Run Art program in order to buy supplies for future projects and school events like Art Night!
Please order ONLINE with the “Order Code” specific to your student on the order form.
The order deadline is TODAY!!!
Thank you so much for your support. I love teaching your kids and appreciate you all.

Drop Off and Pick Up Line
- When dropping off or picking up students, please pull all the way forward as far as you can before you stop to let students out. This allows the flow behind you to not get backed up.
- Please only drop students off at the drop off loop, refraining from dropping them in the parking lot and having them walk across the busy drop off line.
- Please do not block the handicapped spots. We have several families who use those spots for their students with disabilities or for their own.
- If you wish to watch your child walk in, please park in the parking lot spots and you are welcome to walk up and watch your kiddo go all the way in.
- Please do not park in the fire lane and get out to walk a child in or to pick one up from school. That is a quick drop off and go kind of flow since it is a fire lane.
- Please pay attention to the staff who are in the orange vests directing traffic. They are there to keep kids safe and keep traffic flowing.
Thank you so much for helping us ensure that safety and traffic flow are the priorities.
