Kindergarten Newsletter
9/14/18
Highlights of the week.
* We have started our unit on Ocean Life and read a variety of books on the topic with a focus on jellyfish and whales.
* We are starting to notice patterns emerging on our number grid and we are practicing one to one correspondence. This gives us the opportunity to practice writing numbers.
* We have begun our handwriting work books. All writing implements in Kindergarten are small. When using these short pencils, markers and crayons, children essentially have to use the correct grip.
* We have been learning all about our names! We want to be certain that everyone knows the names of all their classmates. Also of great interest -- how many letters are there in our names?
Conversation Starters
* Tell me about Humphrey the whale.
* Can you think of one jellyfish fact?
* What is Kind Words and Actions?
Important Reminder
Also - Kindergarten will be singing the "Left -Right" song at our school wide morning meeting on Friday October 5th. This is a CHS tradition! We look forward to seeing you there!
Poem of the week: "I Am"
I am so glad
I am so sad
I am so mad
I am Me!
