Undocu Advocacy Training
Friday, January 13th at UW2 - 131
Designed for faculty, staff, students, and student staff at UW Bothell, this training focuses on how best to support undocumented students in higher education. Registration is free and includes a box lunch! Through different workshops facilitated by students, professional staff, and guest speakers and alumni Alejandra Perez, we will learn about:
- The history of undocumented students in the public school system
- Current events and relevant legislation
- How to create and hold safe spaces on campus
- Strategies for support in and out of the classroom
- How to be an advocate for all students, inclusive of immigration status
- Learn how to support undocumented students in the upcoming years as of yet we don't know what the new president will do.
- Learn what actions you should take to the make the UW Bothell a safer space for students.
