Whether your team plays on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, football season is here. We may not the "...the Boys or the Giants...", but we're READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!! District play for all teams kicks off this week!!! Let's not forget that our volleyball teams are in the midst of district competition, fighting for playoff spots. And, cross country / tennis teams are preparing for the district meets to advance into State playoffs!!!! Meet the Coach:
Dunbar HS: Stephanie Taylor
Stephanie Taylor is a Fort Worth native. She first began playing volleyball at Our Mother of Mercy in the 6th grade. She then went on to play at Trinity Valley high school under Coach Amanda Watts. There she was able to assist her team in winning 2 SPC Division 1 Titles (“00 and “01). Her senior year she was recruited by Division I, University of Maryland Eastern Shore (MEAC Conference) as a setter.
There she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science.
Stephanie taught Health and Physical Education at Meadowbrook Middle School in Fort Worth ISD for 8 years. There she began her coaching career as the girls’ volleyball, basketball and track coach. During this time, she was promoted to the Junior Varsity coaching position at Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth ISD. There she coached for the next 7 years.
She is now in her 2nd year as the Head Volleyball coach at P. L. Dunbar High School.
Stephanie started her club coaching experience with Knowledge, Skills, Ability (KSA) in 2010. She then completed 5 years at F.O.C.U.S as the 14’s -18’s Metro coach. Her coaching strategy has always been growing athletes. She uses her background in Health to help mentor her athletes during this monumental time of their lives. She is very big on going back to the drawing board and figuring out what will work best for THIS team, THIS athlete RIGHT now!
Stephanie is the mother of 6-year-old Miles Miller and comes from a family of 5 girls and 1 boy. She enjoys her family time and a lot of times family time means, Sports time!

4A runner, Daniel Sanchez won the 5A/6A division at the Paschal Invitational XC Meet on 9/18/21 with a time of 16:05.43. Angel is currently ranked as the #7 runner in the state for the UIL 4A Division!!!!!

Congratulations to Coach Donart, Simon, Kinder, and Our Bobcat Cross Country Team for a job well done at The Boyd Invitational Cross Country Meet. Good Job Coaches and athletes for a job well done! Representing BMHS with Pride and Success! Go Bobcats!

Cross Country at Weatherford today. Varsity Girls got second overall. Medalists were Bella Aranda 9th, Addison Gunther 10th, Piper Paara 12th, Sarah Clingman 13th, Autumn 15th. Varsity Boys got 5th overall, but the teams above were 5A and 6A teams. Eric Reyes placed 3rd. JV Boys had Levi Brawley finishing 3rd.

First ever fall Golf Tournament. Shake off the rust and lets go play. Not a bad first tournament. We had a few first this week. Carter Cook broke 90 but it could have been so much better. Joe Avery shot the lowest round with a 77. Ella Allmand and Lilly Howell lead the Lady Bobcats to victory.

Marcell McCreary
O. D. Wyatt is recognized in the FWISD Annual Report for the second year in a row! Marcell McCreary is featured for being a true student-athlete and apart of the first graduating class at Wyatt to earn their associate degree and high school diploma (Class of 2021). This is a great honor for all of the faculty/staff that had a part in his academic and athletic success while at O. D. Wyatt High School. Marcell is currently a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We know there will be more great accomplishments to come from Marcell as he is becoming an officer in the military and playing Division I basketball.
Congratulations to Marcell and the McCreary Family for this outstanding recognition.

YWLA/TT Athletic Trainer: Haley Jamerson
Hayley is coming from being the Head Athletic Trainer Austin College, where she was for 3 years. Prior to Austin College, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Illinois University in 2016. She then obtained a Master of Science in Kinesiology degree from Southern Arkansas University while being a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer in 2018. Hayley is originally from a small town in Illinois—Effingham. She became a certified athletic trainer by the Board of Certification in 2016. She is also a member of the National Athletic Training Association, Southwestern Athletic Training Association, and Texas State Athletic Training Association. Hayley has been serving as a certified Athletic Trainer for the past 5 years.
