What We Are Learning This Week


  • What are strategies for multiplication?
  • How can we use strip diagrams to solve multiplication problems?

Example Problem:

Paul has 4 baseball cards. If Daniel has 3 times as many card than Paul, how many cards does Daniel have?

Below is the multiplication song for students to learn their skip counting! This is a great song to listen to at night or in the car. Open it and save it for easy access!

Can’t make it to the Book Fair? Surprise your child with their favorite book or send Grandma the link! Books will ship for FREE to the school and be delivered to your child. There are also MORE titles online than are available at the school book fair. Books can be ordered up until March 21st.

Art Contest

What: Contest to create a flyer for the Justin Clean Up Day

When: Due Friday, March 9th to the office or Miss Kea.

How: All artwork needs a signed permission slip.

Why: To spread the word and make Justin beautiful!

The winning artwork will be featured in an upcoming water bill for the whole town to see. The RULES of the art contest are attached and registration forms are in the office. Top 50 entries get a coupon for a Sonic Treat and the winner gets a ride in the police car.

Parents as Teachers

Do you have a child birth to age 5 at home? NISD hosts monthly playtimes for parents and children from birth to 5 years old, before Kindergarten entry. The Parents as Teacher family involvement program will meet next on Friday, March 9th at the Special Programs Center, 1800 State Highway 114. There are two options for
