Box Top Reminder!
The collection of box tops has changed! It’s now an app for your phone (search for Box Tops for Education). When you buy a Box Tops product, scan your receipt and Taylor Elementary gets credit for the Box Tops. After taking the picture of the receipt, click on the star at the bottom of the screen and type in your child’s homeroom teacher’s name. That way your child’s homeroom gets credit. Whichever class has the most Box Tops in May will win a party of their choice.
There are still some products that have Box Tops on them. Cut those out and send them in. Have your child bring them to room 114 for a candy treat. These will count toward your child’s homeroom amount too.
The top six classes with the most Box Tops, so far, are the following: Basil- 143, Kersting-110, Adelsperger- 46, Beason -31, Geers 28, and Frey-13.
If you have any questions you can email me (abeason@nwlsd.org) or Mrs. McGuire (kmcguire@nwlsd.org) or call us (825-3000).
Thank you!!
Our Map Scores Will Blow You Away!
As we finish our mid-year MAP testing, we are celebrating all of our growth, specifically in the area of Reading. Students were able to add one gumball for every point of growth they had. As you can see many of our grade levels filled their machines to the top!
Teachers will be going over your child's scores during conferences.
Family Book Club Celebration
A big shout out to all of the families who participated in our Family Book Club celebration! They learned a little more about Ivan, heard from our guest artist, Mrs. Getz, created their own painting, and received a Meijer gift card to purchase the movie once it is released.
If your family is still reading the book, be sure to continue! Even though the celebration is over, the important message and time spent as a family is still there!
