ORLANDO TRIP (Con/Sym Only)
Preliminary interest google form
Please fill out the google form below about trip interest if you're in Concert or Symphonic bands.
Beginner band students are not eligible for the trip this year.
DMS PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE
This is optional; students in Concert Band and Symphonic Band that play percussion are eligible.
We would like to meet Mondays and Wednesdays after school, starting WEDNESDAY of this week, 10/20 (not Monday).
3:30-5:00pm
$50 fee to cover instructor pay for Mr. Benefield
Students will practice marching drums, learn basics on snare, mallets, timpani and auxiliaries and prepare for the spring semester. We often have BJHS percussionists come help and lead sectionals during this time. It is INVALUABLE for percussionists to get extra time on drums they may not have a chance to do in class (marching OR concert drums). In the spring, our goal is to create a competition percussion ensemble.
Please let Mrs. Merritt know if you would like your student to be part of percussion but they can't attend Wednesday for any reason.
Thank you!
DMS COLOR GUARD
These rehearsals are optional and are aimed at preparing the girls for BJHS JV Winterguard auditions. More information about "what the heck is winterguard? Tell me more!" coming soon!!!!
