Winter Break
Winter Break is here! Schools and offices are closed from December 20 through December 31. School resumes on Monday, January 3, 2022. Calendar.

The Irmo High School Counseling Department would like to extend a big thank you to District Manager Billy Thurman and all of the store managers and associates of Footlocker, Kids Footlocker, and Champs in the Columbia area for their donations to our students. Nearly 600 items to include shoes, shirts, pants, bookbags, socks, hats, hygiene products, and snacks were donated for Irmo students.

Application Open for IHS's This Is Escolares Academic Magnet Program
IHS’s This Is Escolares is a selective magnet program for academically motivated and gifted 9th and 10th grade students.
What: The program offers a rigorous, interconnected approach to learning in the 9th and 10th grades.
Why: Providing gifted students the opportunity to learn with each other in a cohort, This Is Escolares prepares students for one of the IB programmes.
How: A focus on inquiry-based learning in a supportive environment that is designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of academically motivated students.

ISO Nominations for TRI-DAC (Arts Summer Program)
Nominations for students in grades 6 through 9 to attend the 2022 Tri-District Arts Consortium Summer Program are now being accepted. Arts teachers, classroom teachers, administrators or parents may nominate students. The deadline for nominations is January 18, 2022.

After School Academic Tutoring in January
Tutoring will resume on January 10th after when students return from Winter Break. Tutoring will be available to students on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm - 6pm.

Please note that the nurse will not be completing any contact tracing over the school break.
Continue to monitor your student(s) daily for any signs or symptoms of illness. Please report positive results, close contact exposures or potential Covid symptoms to Nurse Powell to ppowell@lexrich5.org and follow up will occur on Monday, January 3rd, 2022.

Important Information from our Attendance Office
Parents/guardians are asked to email Ms. Menger at emenger@lexrich5.org.

Chromebook Support - The Tech Nest is here to help!
Students, need a Chromebook repaired? Come to the Tech Nest in the Media Center between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
Online Lunch Application is Needed to Receive Other Benefits
Breakfast and lunch for students will be provided at no cost during the 2021–2022 school year.
Eligible families are encouraged, however, to complete the online meal applications for the 2021–2022 school year, which determines eligibility for other benefits, including P-EBT funding, scholarships, reduction in school fees, camp fees waived or reduced, ACT/SAT fees waived or reduced, etc. Families may complete the online meal applications at www.lunchapplication.com.
Student Parking Information
All students are required to take the Alive at 25 class in order to receive a parking pass at IHS. Also, all school debt must be resolved; including school fees, library, IDs or textbook. The bookkeeper will verify that debts have been satisfied.

Wednesday mornings - Late Start
On Wednesdays, classes start one hour later to allow for teachers to participate in professional development. The first bell rings at 9:10 am and classes begin at 9:20 am. The morning CATE Bus leaves the IHS bus loop at 9:05am on Late Start Wednesdays.
