Principal's Message
Hello team,
We are beginning the 5th week of school. Some items we will be looking for this week will be ELAR and Balanced Literacy. Mr. Ramirez will be here this week to observe ELAR classrooms and sit in on an ELAR PLC. Spot observations are continuing and we are looking for student voice and instructional arrangements. Is you classroom set-up for student voice? Can my activities in class lend itself to small groups? These are questions I would like you to reflect on.
Reminder that your SLO's should be completed and entered into Cornerstone by Oct. 1. We end the six weeks next week with District common assessments. As you are finalizing your grades, remember failure rates above 15% will result in teacher intervention plan needing to be completed. Research shows that students who fail the 1st six weeks are less likely to make up the difference during the semester and as a result fail. Please make sure your are giving students opportunities to be successful. EIA local is our grading policy and it is also located in your handbook.
I wanted to take the time to thank you guys. You have done a really good job of supporting students and building a culture of learning. I am excited about this year and am glad i have you as a committed staff. Have an awesome week.
