After School Parent/Caregiver Pickup - New Procedures
Effective Wednesday, 9/15 2021
Dear VES Parents/Caregivers,
Thank you for your support and positive energy during these first few days of school! While our year is off to a great start, we are implementing some improvements for those who use our after school parent/caregiver pickup system (white arrows on map).
Morning dropoff procedures will remain the same (blue arrows on map)!
This pickup process, which has been used in the past, will alleviate congestion and create a more efficient system for everyone. It will also require you to park and enter the building. Indoor and outdoor traffic will flow in one direction only.
Please follow the procedures outlined below if you are picking up your child at the end of the day (see the white arrows on the map below).
Continue to use the driveway on the right side of the school. Stay on the roadway and travel past the rear entrance. Turn left into the first entrance of the large parking lot. Park in the designated spaces.
Enter through the rear cafeteria door with the correct parent pickup sign and ID in hand. If your child is to be picked up by someone other than you, they must be identified on the parent pickup sign and have an ID.
All parents/caregivers must sign children out in the cafeteria.
Fourth graders will be dismissed to the cafeteria for pick-up at 3:45 p.m.
Third graders will be dismissed to the cafeteria for pickup at 3:52 p.m.
Staff will direct you while in the building and guide you to a different door to exit the building creating a one way flow.
When driving to leave, please use the exit on the far (west) side of the parking lot (see white exit arrows on the map).
Remember to communicate your child’s pickup plans with the teacher, otherwise students will be sent to their buses.
Please maintain social distancing while in the building. Your assistance in following these guidelines will help us, and help you, keep all children and visitors safe.
Thank you for your cooperation!
