POETRY OUT LOUD
The Second Annual EHHS Poetry Out Loud Finals were held on Wednesday, January 29th. Senior Elizabeth Link will represent EHHS at the State Championships on March 14 at Theatre Works in Hartford. Caroline Dziekan was runner-up. The other competitors were Lena Bosco, Rylee Thomas, Elise Deveau, Caleb Ripper, Julia Stone, and Dan Drlik.
The evening’s competition culminated a series of competitions beginning in November. Each English classroom held a contest, whose winners competed at the grade level. The grade level champions and the next four highest point earners competed for the School Championship. Principal Eric Verner, Assistant Superintendent Mary Clark, BOE Member and local artist Amy Ordonez, and retired Library Media Specialist Keith Luckenbach served as judges, a difficult job indeed as all eight finalists performed exceptionally well.
