Message from Mr. McDermott
Parents,
Quarter one ends on 10/14/22. Please be sure to check your student's grades and contact their teacher if you have any questions. We want to be sure to finish quarter 1 strong!
I have attached directions below on how to set up a parent portal in myStudent, so that you can access your student's grades and receive alerts when grades drop below a C.
Thank you,
Mr. McDermott

Student Consequences for Unexcused Absences
At the secondary level, attendance is marked per period. If a student has at least five (5) unexcused absences, or absences for which the reasons are unknown, in any one course within a calendar month or ten (10) unexcused absences, or absences for which the reasons are unknown, in any one course within a semester, the student may lose privileges as described below.
Loss of Privileges Due to Unexcused Absences
• May be excluded from attendance reward incentives as defined at the school level.
• Lose the privilege of participating in extracurricular activities. These include but are not limited to dances, special events, club activities and athletics, until the end of the following grading quarter. Absences accumulated in the fourth quarter will result in loss of privileges during said grading quarter only and will not carry over to the following year.
• Lose the privilege to drive to campus until the end of the following grading quarter.
Absences accumulated in the fourth quarter will result in loss of privileges during said grading quarter only and will not carry over to the following year.
The principal or designee may review extenuating circumstances resulting in a loss of privilege(s). The principal’s decision is final. Principal review is only intended to reinstate privileges that have been lost as described above. It is not intended to impose harsher discipline than what is outlined herein and in another district policy.

Yearbooks
We sold out early last year. The only way to guarantee you get a yearbook is to preorder it early in the school year. This period will end March 3rd. Parents, if you purchase through the Student Pay portal, PLEASE double check your student's account. If you are not sure, email me (Mrs. Ingram) and I can tell you. Last year we had a number of seniors who thought their parent paid for a book, but the parent had paid for something else, like senior fees. It's heartbreaking to tell these seniors that we do not have a book for them. Before preorders end, we will post a list of everyone who has ordered. Please encourage your students to check this list to avoid this situation. Yearbooks can be purchased through Walsworth's site or through Pasco's Student Pay portal. If you are looking to pay by cash or check, please contact me directly. Current cost is $85, which will increase to $90 starting on September 1st.
If you have any questions regarding school photos or yearbooks, please email me at pingram@pasco.k12.fl.us
