Mark Your Calendars - No School for Parent Teacher Conferences and Fall Break
- There will be no school for students on Friday, October 22 due to parent teacher conferences. School resumes for students on Monday, October 25.
- There will also be no school for students and staff from Friday, October 29 through Monday, November 1 due to the district's Fall Break. School will resume Tuesday, November 2.
Valerie Patton Appointed to JEGB
The State Board of Education appointed a new member to the Normandy Schools Collaborative Joint Executive Governing Board (JEGB). Valerie Patton will begin her service to the NSC JEGB effective immediately, replacing Karen Pierre who resigned from the JEGB in August 2021.
Patton is new to her role as Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer and President at the Greater St. Louis Inc. Foundation. Prior to that, she worked at the St. Louis Regional Chamber of Commerce, serving as Senior Vice President of Economic Inclusion and Workforce Development Strategies and Executive Director of the St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative.
Viking Homecoming Parade & Game 2021
Thanks to Normandy Schools Collaborative students, staff, alumni and the community for making Homecoming 2021 a success!
Beautiful weather provided a perfect backdrop for the parade. Thanks to all those who participated. And a special shoutout to the the alumni who fed the community! Viking spirit was on full display during the football game vs. McCluer High School, as students, staff and alumni cheered on our team.

NHS Cafeteria and West Hall Construction Update
The new Culinary Arts suite is still under construction and scheduled for completion later this winter. The NHS renovations were made possible by the passage of Proposition V, a $26 million no-tax-rate increase bond issue providing funds to improve Normandy High School learning spaces. The next project is the new secured connector, bringing an enclosed walkway between East and Central Halls. Stay tuned!

Meet Normandy's New Athletic Director
Price has had a long career coaching at various institutions, including Ball State, Morehead State University, and Lamar University. As a player, Price experienced success at the high school, college and professional levels. He played college ball at the University of Notre Dame.
Following his senior season at Notre Dame, Price was an NBA 7th round draft pick with the Washington Bullets. He spent 13 seasons playing professionally overseas in various countries including France, Italy, and Switzerland. Coach Price was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.
District Uniform Deadline Approaching
For the 2021-2022 school year, Normandy Schools Collaborative implemented a new uniform program to help provide a more secure and academic environment for students, teachers and staff.
Beginning Nov 2, 2021, all Normandy students will be required to wear the district-issued uniform to school, every day. All uniform sizes in shirts and pants are in stock at the Uniform Depot located at Normandy High School-North Hall, 6701 St. Charles Rock Road.

Class Notes: Reminders for the New School Year
Daily Health Check: Parents please perform daily health checks on your students prior to sending them to school. This will help stop the spread of COVID in our schools. The Daily Health Check list is available here or at the COVID Return to Learn section of the website. The document is also posted below this article.
Chromebooks: All students need to bring their Chromebooks to school daily. If Chromebooks are broken or in need of repair, please return them to your child's school.

Free COVID Testing
NSC is offering free saliva-based COVID-19 testing at the Normandy Early Learning Center via a partnership with Washington University. COVID testing is available at a special drive-through clinic.
