Fairies at Fall Fest
Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather helped revelers make fairy dust necklaces at the PCBC Fall Fest, October 27. Thanks to Jan Bobe for creating costumes that turned librarians into magical wand-wavers.

Great Book Giveaway: December 4-18
We’ve been stashing away cool donated books all year just waiting for our annual Great Book Giveaway. These are books that don’t quite fit into our collection. All FREE for the taking! Come early for the best selection during regular Library hours.
Community Story Time Is a Hit!
Our first few weeks of Community Story Time have been amazing! A bunch of moms – plus a nanny or two -- and their little ones have had a great time listening to our talented readers. Snacks, songs, and exploring the kids’ books make it a fun time for the kids. The grown-ups have enjoyed each other’s company, too. Community Story Time is on Tuesday mornings, from 10:00 till 10:30 here in the Library. We invite kids to bring their favorite grown-up—a mom, dad, grand, or nanny. Join us and bring your friends.
An Afternoon with (Our Own) Author
We spent a wonderful afternoon on October 20 hearing Nancy Hastings Sehested talk about her book, Marked for Life: A Prison Chaplain’s Story. Nancy is the sister of Larry Hastings, and they grew up at Park Cities Baptist Church where their dad, C. Brownlow Hastings, was Minister of Education in the 1960s. There is a whole generation of PCBCers who remember Nancy! A long-time minister, Nancy spent 13 years as a prison chaplain in North Carolina. Her stories and anecdotes are poignant, amusing, and profound. Her book is available to check out in the Library, or you can buy your own copy on Amazon.com.
Please Think About Volunteering in the PCBC Library
We still have some openings on weekdays. No need for a long-term commitment; just a couple of hours now and then would be really helpful. You can sign up online by clicking the link below. Or just come on in to talk about it.
Ladies Book Brunch: Postponed
Wednesday Evening Book Club
To kick off the new year, the PCBC Library is planning to launch a monthly Wednesday Evening Book Club. Starting at 6:30 p.m., it will let people eat beforehand or even grab supper to go and come join us. We will feature one book each month, touching on different genres through the spring: Inspirational, History, Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Readers’ Choice. You can read the book in advance and participate in the discussion, which we will facilitate. We will adjourn no later than 8:00 p.m. Our dates are January 15, February 12, March 11, April 8, and May 6. Our first title will be If, by Mark Batterson. Are you interested? Want to know more? Contact Emily Martin at elmartin@pcbc.org or RSVP below.

Year of the Bible and Sermon Series References
Do you like to dig deeper into the sermon series or into the Bible text you’re studying? We now have a Book List of commentaries and other resources for every book of the Bible in our online catalog, OPAC. You can view the books covering Romans through Jude in “YOTB – People of the Kingdom.” The titles for Revelation also tie in with the November sermon series, “Revelation: When the fairy tales come true.”
Our Library Cornucopia is Overflowing!

Click the Right Button
There’s a new member database at Park Cities Baptist Church. It’s known as TouchPoint, and it’s a treasure trove of useful information. When you go to the PCBC website, you’ll find a Member Login button in the upper righthand corner of each page. It couldn’t be easier to log on and check out your member profile.
But – if you want to access our online patron access catalog, OPAC, don’t confuse the Member Logon button on the Library page with the Account Log On, which is on the Library Catalog.
It’s just a little confusing if you’re a newbie at this. So check it out and give us a call if you have trouble logging in to OPAC. Hint: You can get directly to our OPAC page and log on using our FREE Librista app on your phone. Or if you’re at your computer, use this link.
