This Is How We Lakeview
March 2023 Edition
March updates!
Parents, we have seen an increase in students having and using vaping devices at school. Most of these are being ordered off of Amazon. I suggest looking at your order history just to be certain your student has not ordered any. Also, please have a conversation with your student about these devices and the consequences for bringing/using them at school (see chart below).
Reminders for next week:
- Parent-Teacher Conferences are Tuesday, March 7th (please reach out to a team teacher if you would like to schedule a conference)
- March 8th - NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS (no virtual classes or new assignments)
- Current 7th graders - elective course requests are due on Friday, March 10th

Scheduling for CURRENT 7TH GRADERS for the 2023-2024 School Year
7th grades families,
School counselors and teachers have been sharing scheduling information with the students. Please plan on taking time to look over the scheduling hub with your student, there are videos and other documents to help them through the scheduling process. At the bottom of the scheduling hub is a Google Form where students and parents can submit questions to the administrators or counselors.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me (rachael_hanagan@plsd.us) or your school counselor.
In case you missed the parent meetings, I have linked the video and the slideshow below.
Current 7th graders need to have all schedule requests completed in Infinite Campus by 3:00 pm on March 10th!
Attention 7th grade parents!
If your students has a 3.5 grade point average or higher and no discipline referrals resulting in school issued consequences, your student has received an email and has also been invited to a Google Classroom letting them know that they are a candidate for the National Junior Honor Society. There will be an optional meeting for parents and students on Monday, March 13th at Lakeview Jr. High School at 6 pm with Leanne Ross to go over the process of applying for membership. All of the information that will be shared at this meeting is also available in the Candidate Google Classroom. This OPTIONAL meeting is for students from both Ridgeview and Lakeview Jr. High Schools.
If you have any questions, please email Leanne_ross@plsd.us or Todd_Stanley@plsd.us.

Level Up - Week 9

Level 1 = Limited, Level 2 = Basic, Level 3 = Proficient, Level 4 = Accomplished, Level 5 = Advanced. We are also implementing some new interventions during class and E/I to help our students level up their performance on the state tests. Finally, we have brought back the iReady team challenge. Up until Spring Break, our teams will be completing for the iReady/ALEKS/Membean trophy by trying to get the highest average number of lessons passed per team. Encourage your student to work on their Personalized Learning Pathway and pass those lessons!
