George Washington

The First President of the United States

I was the first president of the United States! I did not really want to be the first president, but many people thought highly of me because of my experience as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution. During my presidency the federal court system was established. I also oversaw the addition of the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. Also, Washington D.C. was developed as the new capital for the United States
