Mike McGowan

SMART Technologies, Education Solution Specialist

Mike McGowan is currently the Educational Solution Specialist for SMART Technologies. Prior to this position Mike was the Supervisor of Technology for Lincoln Elementary School District 156. Mike also teaches for the University of St. Francis and REAL program teaching technology for Educators classes along with Technology courses for Connecting Link. Mike is part of New Dimension Media's advisory board consulting on an as needed basis. He was also the 2012 SMART SEE of the year and a SMART Certified Trainer.

Nancy Powell

Nancy Norem Powell is a retired high school math teacher who was instrumental in bringing the Bloomington High math and science departments, the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) and the NY Teachers Network to the Web in 1993. Her recognitions include the Presidential Award of Excellence for Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) and the Golden Apple. She was an author of the UCSMP Geometry 3rd Edition, and has written Create Activities for your SMART Board (http://www.toolsforteachers.com/nancy-powell). She has dedicated her retirement to giving back to her profession - teaching pre-service teachers; giving math, SMART board, and technology workshops; blogging (http://NAPmath.wordpress.com); and creating/moderating 6 wikis for teachers including one for SMART boards (see below) and her newest wiki is full of resources for rookie mathematics teachers (http://GreenApples.wikispaces.com).

Ruthann Perkins

Ruthann has been a fifth grade teacher for 14 years. She engages students using technology, proactively designing lessons that integrate strategic thinking and prioritize depth of knowledge as the basis of learning. Ruthann loves to travel and has been to South Africa, China, Malaysia, Netherlands, England, and Costa Rica. She genuinely believes that Positive Attitudes Change Everything.

Cindy Adamson

Cindy Adamson is a Teacher/Technology Coordinator at St. Dominic School. She has presented at several workshops and ICE Mini-Conferences on SmartBoard topics. She is a SMART Exemplary Educator, SMART Certified Trainer, Discovery Education STAR, and Discovery Education Learning Council Member.

Rebecca Lubarsky

Rebecca is an Education Consultant from COTG that has been working with SMART for over 4 years. She supports all of COTG's SMART training needs for over 150 districts throughout Illinois.

Matt Granger

Matt was a classroom teacher for 22 years before switching roles to an Instructional Technology Coach. He has used SMART products since 2006 and has presented numerous sessions and trainings on SMART Board use since then.

Marina Martinez

Marina Martinez is a 7th grade science teacher in Calumet City, IL. With 13 years teaching experience, 8 of those years have been with SMART products. Marina is a SMART Exemplary Educator (SEE) that also has 5 SMART boards in her classroom, which is part of a collaborative project. Marina has received certified training in almost all SMART products and has enjoyed using every one of them.

Nancy Anding

Nancy is a first grade teacher/technology coach/webmaster for Wood View Elementary School at VVSD365U. She has been teaching first grade in addition to supporting, training, modeling, and embedding technology on campus and in the classroom since 2000. Prior to that, she was Vice-President/Administration for a management consulting firm involved in executive recruitment, organizational consulting, and psychological testing. "I feel all of my experiences have made me a more well-rounded educator."
