(New) Paying For College Parent Night- virtual
On Monday, November 9th at 6:30 pm over Zoom, Eastview High School will host a virtual Paying For College Parent Night. Please register here and the viewing link will be sent 24 hours before the event. This presentation will also be recorded for those not able to make it.
A College Financial Aid Dean will present information about paying for college, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid - FAFSA (https://fafsa.ed.gov/), and understanding college financial aid award packages (ex.: grants, loans, scholarships, and work study). Topics related to changes to admission/financial aid related to COVID-19 and the Eastview Community Scholarship will also be covered.
Questions from the audience will be addressed at the Q and A portion at the end of the evening. All grades are welcome.

Applying for Financial Aid Overview (14 minutes) – discusses the FAFSA and the MN Dream Act application and who should apply for each, what is needed to complete both apps, dependency status, answers to some FAQs.
2021-2022 What You Need to Know (48 minutes) – explains the types of financial aid available, what is needed to complete the FAFSA, a demo of FAFSA on the Web.
Financial Aid Presentation Video (53 minutes) – very detailed explanation of financial aid, the FAFSA application process, how EFC is determined (with Minnesota West as an example), some helpful FAFSA tips and what happens after the FAFSA.
Paying for College Videos (5-10 minutes each) –Videos about the financial aid process, completing the FAFSA and Dream Act Applications.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 32nd class in 2020, the Foundation has provided over 6,300 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $72 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Nov 1st deadlines and free apps this month!
If you are applying for any November 1st college deadlines and need official transcripts or letters of recommendation submitted, you must make these requests by Oct. 18th at the latest to ensure an on time delivery.
