Another wonderful Carnaval was celebrated this month. This fabulous week would not have been possible without all of the hard work from the teachers and parents. Students thoroughly enjoyed the winter activities, La Tire (maple candy), the French music performer (Roland Bibeau) and, of course, their poutine snack. What a fantastic week!

Special thanks to Mme. Herron, Mme. Driscoll, Mme. Bouzidi, Mme. Lundy, Mrs. Schwartz and Mrs. Gatsinos for organizing a great event. Thank you to all of the parents who helped with the poutine and cutting la ceinture fléchée for all of our new students! Your efforts are sincerely appreciated. Please note the ceintures (sashes) have been sent home with the students -- please keep them for next year.

SEND US YOUR PHOTOS!!

CRB is a learning community where we want all students and their families to feel welcome and appreciated. In order to further support one another and increase inclusivity, we would like to highlight the holidays and traditions that are important to our students throughout the year. If you have a photo of your child and/or family celebrating a special tradition or holiday event that we may include in a slideshow highlighting that celebration (Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Christmas, etc.) please send it to us via email (hard copies are also welcome) at popowichc@hdsb.ca. The slide show will only run in the front foyer of the school for our students and staff. We look forward to bringing theschool community together during the many special celebrations held throughout the year.

Let’s get started! Send us your photos.

Golden Horseshoe Music Festival

On Wednesday, February 20th, the Concert Band and Jazz Band traveled to Ancaster’s Redeemer University College to perform as a part of the Region’s Golden Horseshoe Music Festival. Both bands performed incredibly well, and both received a Silver Plus placement. Special recognition goes out to the Concert Band who also received an invitation to MusicFest, a National level competition to be held in Ottawa this year. Congratulations to all students involved for their hard, focused work in preparing for this festival!
