Kindness Matters
This week's newsletter is dedicated to Kindness.
Special thanks to Mrs. Pasko, who learned about World Kindness Day and wanted our little corner of the Universe to celebrate!
Literacy. Math. Play. They’re the keys to the success of our children, right? But what about the skills that will help when things get tough?
What about the ability to communicate feelings and needs? To really listen to others? To self regulate and understand other points of view? To empathize with people who are different?
We believe these skills—all linked to kindness—are just as important as academic skills.
On Monday, Montrose will begin to celebrate a Week of Kindness. Read on to find out more.
In Partnership,
Mrs. Samuels
World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. This day, celebrated on November 13 of each year, has the purpose to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. This understanding has the power to bridge immeasurable gaps.
Celebrate: Montrose Week of Kindness
Monday: Read to a neighbor, buddy, or family member OR help with a chore
Tuesday: Make a card for someone you love OR clean up after playing with something
