Welcome Back, Nimitz Seahawks!

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! The Nimitz Library is excited to embark on this unprecedented journey with you. Our first phase of students stepped foot on campus this week and we were so happy to see their faces.
New Digital Resource

World News Digest can be found in the Library Resources folder in Launchpad. This vast resource offers the following:
- Current event articles, videos, and infographics.
- News stories dating back to 1940.
- Historical documents
- Curriculum Tools
Teachers and students have access to this great resource.
Accessing EBooks
You can access ebooks using Sora in Launchpad. Sora also has an app that you can download to your phone or tablet. The video below is an overview on using Sora and connecting your account to the San Antonio Public Library ebook collection. NEISD students can access SAPL's ebook collection even if they do not have a library card. Keep reading, Seahawks!

Library Orientation
Mrs. Reyna met with Ms. Sam, Mr. Clark and Mr. Dolberry's classes to give them a quick orientation of the Seahawk Library as well as help them navigate through Sora. Students were excited to learn about Sora and how many books they had access to once they connected their accounts to the San Antonio Public Library.

Coming Soon - SEL Makerspace On the Go
The Seahawk Library will be visiting lunches and handing out SEL-related makerspace goody bags to students. The kits will include things like coloring sheets, scratch art bookmarks, stress balls, and origami. We hope to bring a smile to students and brighten their day!
