Principal's Message

As you saw in Dr. Wilson's letter last night, mandatory indoor masking requirements will be lifted for CUSD beginning on March 14. Though indoor mask wearing will no longer be required, we will welcome and support mask wearing for all who choose to do so. I would encourage families to use the coming days to prepare students for the changes and discuss what they feel is appropriate for their student(s) at this time. We will continue to screen all students as they enter campus in the morning and encourage the practice of social distancing. To read more about this decision, please see the District's website and review Dr. Wilson's letter emailed to families on Friday, March 4.

Student-Led Conferences start next week

From Wednesday, March 16 to Friday, March 25, we will have Student-led Conferences. During these meetings, students, their grown-ups and teachers will reflect on and celebrate student growth so far this year. We've lots to celebrate, and it's time well spent to do that together. As a school, we will dismiss students at 1:00 PM daily to make time for these meetings. Please make arrangements to pick up your child at 1:00 PM each day from March 16 to March 25. Your child's teacher will provide directions for setting up an online conference for you and your child. Thank you!

In-N-Out + Family Board Game Evening - Monday, March 21 at 6pm

Get ready for a casual evening of burgers, friends and board games on Monday, March 21st. Sycamore families are invited to enjoy dinner outside at Sycamore. We encourage you to bring a family board game to play while enjoying In-N-Out! Perhaps you also have a game or two you are ready to donate. We will have a table available for "pass it on games". Donation games must have all pieces and be in good condition. Teachers will first be given an opportunity to add to their classrooms and any additional board games will be donated to a local non-profit. Families may also choose to pick up dinner and enjoy off campus if they feel more comfortable, or have a scheduling conflict. Dinners are five dollars each and include a cheeseburger, hamburger or grilled cheese with chips and a soda. On order form is coming soon. For now, you may send your order to Tina Hensley in the office by paying cash or email at thensley@cusd.claremont.edu and send payment via Zelle to the account: SycamorePayments@gmail.com. Please be sure to Save the Date on your calendar!
