JEFCOED recognizes three CMS Band Instrumentalists
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 cancellations and re-scheduling, another Honor Band in our area had to change their dates. It ended up being scheduled at the exact same time as our JEFCOED All-County Concert. That means that we may not be able to have an actual honor band festival to attend this school year. The school district is working on an alternative activity, but no arrangements have been finalized at this time. Regardless, we are so proud of these students for this outstanding accomplishment!

Practice for Virtual Competition Adds Up to Math Team Success
The Corner Middle School Math Teams are just beginning their virtual competition season with a practice tournament test this week just before they competee in the Pizitz Middle School Online Math Tournament on April 15th and the Jefferson County Online Math Tournament the week of April 25th. The team has been participating in the MathCounts Problem of the Week and its extended studies have focused on patterns, logic, and combinatorics.
According to 7th and 8th Grade Math Team Coach, Jennifer Rouse, "I am super proud of our mathletes. Every single one of them participates in something else outside of academic teams and clubs. They're juggling band, robotics, multiple sports, and CTA and still finding time to make practices a priority, sometimes splitting their time between two practices in one day. That level of commitment is what makes them excellent."
