1, The International Childrens Digital Library http://en.childrenslibrary.org/ has folk tales and fairty tales and more than 30 languages.
Secondary: Finding Reading Materials

MackinVia
Ebsco eBooks (great place to look for classic novels for class)Students can create individual accounts in EBSCO to save, bookmark, and annotate their novels. Examples include The Scarlet Letter, Call of the Wild, and Dracula.
Other favorites are:
- Audible which is free until June 30, 2020.

- Flower Mound residents: We don’t have youth courtesy cards, but people can apply for cards online using this link:

- The application will be reviewed and the applicant contacted with their card number.
- Please allow one full business day for a response. Staff is not working on the weekends.
If people have questions related to getting a card or anything else, they can call 972.874.6200 (M-Th, 9-5 and Friday 1-5) and we can talk through their situation and try to help. They might get the recording, but we are trying to return all calls the same business day.
Denton Public LIbrary is closed but residents with library cards can access any of their databases and ebook content using their library card number. Unfortunately, they are unable to request cards at this time.
Resources for Homework
Educational Resources available within the SSO (http://sso.dentonisd.org)
Students may log in from home to the SSO using their ID number and password. Library resources can be used to help with homework.
1.The Library-Research folder has resources in all subject areas geared to the age of the child. These resources come in English and Spanish. Ebsco, Gale and Britannica are available in over 30 other languages.
2. Reading resources may be found under Library-ebooks and other. We have digital books, but also look at the websites above for more reading options.
a. Need to encourage your child to read more? Try giving them a bingo card to find a book to read.
b Librarians will be available to help students find books or learn how to access our ebook platforms. Please let your librarian know if you need student to have books that meet a certain criteria. The librarians email should be on the library staff page of the school website.
3.Although testing has been cancelled for this year, Test Prep materials from Learning Express may be found in the Library-ebooks folder. iStation is also available for students. These include skills students always struggle with such as inferencing.
4. Do you need videos to help your student learn a topic? Look at the videos in Learn 360 and Discovery Education. Learn 360 has thousands of videos. Example: Seseme Street Video clips.
Students can log into the SSO (http://sso.dentonisd.org).
Log in with their username which is their student ID and their password.
Click on Library ebooks.
Click on Tumblebooks (or Destiny Discover or MackinVia).
Use the search box to search for a book to check out.
A green check means the book is avaiable and may be checked out.
A red x means the book is checked out and not available.
