Centerview families,
Our students are pumped about the Winter Olympics. I’m thinking the Women’s Olympic Hockey team send-off sparked their interest. As they watch from home, during Learning Ventures, and have conversations through the day, there’s a keen interest in the variety of Olympic events. One of our first grade teachers, Ms. Kim, shared that three of her students wanted to add to their learner profile that they wanted to be an Olympian. Early on, students need role models beyond us that inspire them and create dreams…that can be achieved!
Speaking of aspirations, our students have, or will, be setting academic and social goals with their teachers. These goals and next steps will be discussed with you as we communicate and connect in February and beyond. Look for more information from your child’s teacher as we move through the month of February.
This is the time of year for events that start to get us excited for next year. We hosted our Centerview Kindergarten Kickoff event last week. If you know a future Panther, let them know it’s not too late to visit Centerview or enroll. The priority deadline for enrollment is February 28, 2022. And tomorrow, 4th graders and families are invited to Westwood to learn more about 5th grade. You won’t want to miss this chance to look around and learn more about next year.
On another note, last night, the school board approved changes to the Face Mask Decision-Making Guide that will be in place after February 25 through the end of the school year. If you missed it, see the update that went out earlier today with details.
During our successes and challenges, I appreciate you! We will continue to partner and best care for our students.
Thank you,
Mike
