6th Grade Earth Day!
Earth Day was on April 22 this year. The 6th graders celebrated this important day by learning about our impact on the planet and the ways we, as individuals, can help keep Earth a healthy place to live. Students began the activities in groups and rotated to six different stations, each with their own focus on the environment. Students planted sunflower seeds, made bird feeders, and started garden seeds for germination. All crafts were made from biodegradable materials. Guest speakers talked about watersheds/runoff pollution and the role of bees in biodiversity as well as beekeeping. And last but not least, they learned about the importance of soil for all living things while having a snack.
News from Mr. Riedel's Class
Students are getting ready to start their final projects in US History. Students will be able to select a topic that interests them most that falls under the umbrella of the four units we covered this year. Students will also be able to choose how they do their project by selecting from a list of project methods that allow the students freedom and will hopefully maximize creativity. This project will serve as students final project and final opportunity to display what they've learned throughout this school year.
