The Marie Murphy Update
11 June 2021 Edition
Congrats To The Class of 2021!
Marie Murphy's graduating Class of 2021 celebrated their commencement on Monday, June 7. Held outdoors at New Trier High School's Northfield campus, families celebrated the event with a drive-in feel complete with video screen and AM/FM broadcast of the ceremony. A live stream of the ceremony was also available on YouTube for families to watch at home. The ceremony was highlighted by student speakers Dylan, Denise, Max, Rayla, and Sophie who represented their classmates well.
Congratulations and best of luck to newest Marie Murphy alumni!
7th Grade Searches For (and Finds) Last Week Fun!
In celebrating the end of the year, the 7th-grade team put together a scavenger hunt activity that was fun and exciting for teachers and students alike. Using clues along the way, teams of students competed against one another in seeking items such as youth literature, poppers, and treats hidden in and around Marie Murphy School. It was an exercise in engagement, teamwork, communication, and most importantly, FUN!

The End
In thinking back to last August...all the unknowns, all the uncertainties, all the fears...I simply am amazed at how far we have come. To say that the students, the families, and the teachers have shown flexibility, ingenuity, and patience would be an understatement. The cooperation between all three groups this year has been inspiring, and I will forever be grateful for the efforts made by everyone. When we stumbled, there was kindness and understanding. When we succeeded, there was gratitude and appreciation.
Thank you to every student, every teacher, every family for an outstanding year that we will never forget.
