Weekly Classroom Update

Mrs. Gore's 3rd Grade Class

We have a busy week ahead of us! I can not believe that it is already May! The year has flown by! This week we will also take our Math MAP on Tuesday and our Science MAP on Thursday. Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep and a nutritious breakfast in the morning.

This week in math, we will be working through several math menus reviewing multiplication, division, problem solving and fractions. We will also continue to test for multiplication and division.

In reading this week, we will finish reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate Di Camillio. The students love this book and are doing a fantastic job breaking apart the text to track character development.

In writing, students will write their rough draft of their biography paper. All students should be finished reading their biography and have completed their pre-writing packet. This week we will focus on writing a paragraph each day. The students are so excited about their biographies and the upcoming Living History Museum. If you need help gathering items for a costume for you child for the museum, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We have launched our new ELM over plants. Students will work through a DIY menu this week as they research and learn about plants and how they function as a system.
