What is A-G?
Some Things to Keep in Mind
- A-G is a list of requirements needed to attend a state 4-year college and is highly recommended for those looking to attend any college. It is recommended the family contact all colleges they are interested in to see entrance requirements as colleges individualize their requirements.
- AG courses in Science require labs. Inspire provides these in person and virtual labs each semester.
- We offer many classes that have highly qualified teachers (HQT) attached. These courses are especially helpful for those families wanting minimal parental involvement or needing significant help.
- Click here to see a list of courses we offer. Feel free to share this list with your families.
- Before diving into curriculum options, it is important to determine how involved the parent can be in their HS student's education.
Inspire Minimum Graduation Requirements
What is Concurrent Enrollment?
Concurrent Enrollment is when an Inspire Student is taking a college level course that will satisfy the requirements for both high school and college requirements. For more information from the handbook click here.
Where do students take college courses?
High school students can take college courses at their local community college. Students will need to apply directly with the local community college. We ask that students work with their high school counselors to make sure that the courses can be applied to the correct graduation requirement.
What is the age limit for community college?
The age requirement will differ from college to college; please check with the local community college. Typically, there is a 15 year age limit. Many community colleges also offer petitions if younger students wish to enroll.
Do the college courses count towards high school credits as well?
Community college courses can fulfill high school credits. Depending on the course description, the college course may fulfill different high school graduation requirements; please check with your counselor if are unsure whether a course you are interested in will count towards graduation.
For more information on how to guide students to petition to enroll, please check out the handbook and for information on local colleges contact your High School Counselor elske@inspireschools.org
