PHCS "Digital Days" Parent Update
Week 12 - June 1 - 5, 2020
A NOTE FROM YOUR PRINCIPALS
Dear PHCS Families,
We hope you are all enjoying some time outdoors now that the sun is shining! The benefits of fresh air and sunshine are immeasurable! As we near the end of the instructional year we have a few bits of info to share.
First, our last official day of school will be Friday, June 12th. On that day we will hold a Chromebook and School Items "Drop Off" Event from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. We will conduct this as a "drive-through collection" in the bus loop at PHCS. Parents are asked to please plan to attend and to help their children gather all the materials which need to be returned to school.
This drive-thru collection will be performed with safety gear and social distancing.Teachers have been asked to notify their students of all items that need to be returned including their Chromebook, case, charger as well as any printed materials such as textbooks or novels. Please watch for this email and plan to deliver these items back to the school in good condition and clearly marked with your child's name.
The last Trimester (Term 6) of the school year ends on June 12th. Teachers will complete Elementary and Secondary Report Cards that will be emailed to parents. Please let us know if you have an updated email address by calling 315-265-4642 and leaving a message with the appropriate building level office. We will promptly update your information on Schooltool so that you can receive our child's marks. Please note that these reports will reflect your child's level of "distance learning engagement". At the elementary level, you will see E- engaged and N - not engaged indicators for core subjects. The documents will be mainly narrative and will be attached to your child's regular report card for the year. At the secondary level reports will indicate Pass/Fail status.
Just a quick reminder that the BACKPACK PROGRAM is still available. The application is posted on our website and is linked here: BACKPACK PROGRAM APPLICATION. If you are temporarily in need of assistance with additional food items, hygiene products, and/or school supplies, please submit an application online. (Income guidelines have been temporarily suspended.)
Please be sure to access our online Helpdesk Assistance Form if you need any assistance and check our Facebook Page and District Website frequently for updates on the school closure.
Stay strong, Panthers!

Updated Food Service Plan
Next Meal Delivery Date is Monday, June 1st, 2020.
Please watch for the school bus as we can longer backtrack or make additional deliveries if you miss the first run through your neighborhood.
PHCS is now providing foodservice once a week. Each family will receive enough food on Monday to provide breakfast and lunch for children in the household age 18 and under. Remember, students do not need to qualify for a free or reduced-price lunch in order to receive food. Families will need to be signed-up on the foodservice form in order to receive these deliveries. If you have not signed up yet, here is the link:
If you have already been receiving meals there is no need to complete the form again.
PHCS is working hard to provide this service for families in our district while doing all we can to keep our staff safe. You will now find that rather than pre-made sandwiches, the items needed to make sandwiches will be included in the delivery. This new plan reduces the number of staff hours and greatly reduces the handling of food items.
