Clark Middle School PTSO

February 2013

February is Heart Health Month

Give yourself a nice Valentine gift by becoming a non-smoker. Clark County Health Department will begin a new Cooper Clayton Method to Stop Smoking class on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Health Department. There will be 13 classes, one hour each, which will meet weekly. This group atmosphere creates a great support structure for ANYONE interested in becoming a non-smoker. For more information, please contact Carolyn Burtner at 859-744-4482, ext. 1036 or Make 2013 the year you improve your heart and lung health by becoming a non-smoker.

DQ Family Night

We're partnering with Dairy Queen (Martin Luther King Dr. location) for a family night on Tuesday, February 19 from 4:00-7:00 PM. 10% of the sales will benefit the PTSO! Even if it feels like winter, come out and have a hot meal for a good cause!

Scholastic Book Fair 2/25-3/1

Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills kids learn, it is the one you can influence the most.

We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair that will run from Monday, February 25 through Friday, March 1 which is "Read Across America Day." The fair will be located in the school library and will be open 8:45AM-3:30 PM all days with extended hours on Thursday until 6:00 PM.

While visiting the fair, don't forget to check out the teacher wish lists to donate a book to a favorite teacher. Gift certificates can also be purchased.

You can also click here to visit our book fair online from February 20 until March 12. You'll find an expanded selection of books for the whole family from preschool to adults. All orders ship to school free and each purchase benefits our school.

Volunteers: If you expressed an interest in helping with the book fair on your PTSO membership form, you will be contacted soon. For anyone else who has some daytime hours available and would like to help, please contact us at or call Jan at 745-9974.
