Use of Data
Clarity Teacher and Student Survey 2017
Organized BrightByte Clarity survey of teachers and students. Data indicates that NSA's overall score is 1046 which is in Proficient range but down from last year's survey. Access at home for students and teachers is Exemplary . Students and teachers rate their technology skills as Excellent. Data indicates weakest areas are the speed and quality of support services at school, student digital citizenship skills, use of digital assessment tools and software, and teacher use of computers for communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Plan to focus on incorporating a digital citizenship/digital literacy learning unit in freshman advisory or perhaps English next year. 43% students report being taught how to cite online information weekly and 35% report being taught monthly. Continue to support teacher's use of technology for teaching and assessment by finding resources and supporting them.
LS2-Library Circulation Statistics
Utilizes district library circulation software (LS2) to guide decisions regarding deleting older resources and purchasing new resources. Use collection analysis tool to make critical budget decisions when purchasing resources.
1891 library books were checked out last year representing a 3.5% decrease. This could be linked to the increased use of Limitless Libraries books and electronic books and databases at NSA. MackinVia, our digital resource platform, reports over 1,000 views of digital resources this school year. To Kill A Mockingbird was checked out 27 times this year. Curating and cultivating a digital library that is accessible 24/7 is a top priority. MackinVia supports MNPS Literacy initiative by providing Lexile levels and digital notebook feature that allows students to freely annotate texts.
Continue to increase purchases and align purchases with curriculum and students' interest.
