Grades
Term 1 ends on Friday November 6th. This will be the first official grade inputted into student's grade book. It is the student's responsibility to turn in any missing assignments and make up any work before this date.
Many free resources including the Math Center, Writing Center, and NHS Tutoring are available to assist students with all schoolwork. Click here for a schedule of these resources.

Financial Aid Night. The financial aid process can be overwhelming. So hearing it from a real person may help to set things right for you. On Tuesday November 10th from 6:30-9:00 at Milford High School's CPA, Huron Valley Counselors will host Financial Aid Night. This is an opportunity for you to hear from a financial aid expert from Baker College, Mr. Greg Little. He will cover the basic kinds of financial aid available as well as go through the FAFSA application in detail. You won't want to miss this!
Skilled Trades Job Fair
"More than 30 employers in the manufacturing and skilled trades industries will be available to talk with job seekers about jobs and careers in the skilled trades. Attendees will have direct access to employers with full-time employment opportunities, network with employers, and gain insight about the exciting careers in the skilled trades industry."

Sophomore Leadership Seminar Opportunities
Each year, Lakeland sends one sophomore student to each the HOBY Leadership and MYLead Seminars. Click here to apply for either of these leadership opportunities.
Applications for the opportunities are due by November 13, 2015.
HOBY Leadership
The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar (HOBY) is designed for high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents and apply them in becoming effective, ethical leaders in their home, schools, workplace and community. The high level of energy, encouragement and motivation as well as the interaction with peers, panelists and volunteers are important elements in nurturing the students’ future leadership roles.

Michigan Youth Leadership Conference
Michigan Youth Leadership hosts an annual MYLead Conference for high school sophomores. The goal is to motivate and enable the youth of Michigan to continuously impact their communities through leadership and service. Conference participants experience the opportunity of a lifetime, make many friends, and learn about themselves and their leadership abilities in a weekend full of fun!

Oakland Dance Festival
The Oakland Dance Festival (ODF) offers college recruitment auditions, master classes, workshops, and performance opportunities for dancers of high school age. The festival is open to individuals and groups affiliated with private studio and high school dance programs. This unique experience will allow multiple colleges to observe potential recipients for awards and scholarships. College representatives and professional dancers will teach master classes and judge high school performances throughout the day.

College Visits
College visits are available to all students at Lakeland. This is a great opportunity for them to learn more about the various colleges and universities in Michigan. If your student would like to sign up for any of the following college visits please have him/her see Mrs. Roberto in the Counseling Office. Students attending these visits will need permission from their teacher and have to makeup any missed work.
