December Edition

A Message from Mrs. Robertson

Excitement is in the air at Spring Hill Intermediate. The holidays are here and our students are actively involved in collecting mittens, scarves, and hats for those in need, 5th grade is rehearsing for a holiday program, in addition to working hard each and every day. Our PTA held a fundraiser selling Butter Braid pastries and an unbelievable amount of people participated! Delivery and pick up is December 6th from 2:00-6:00 at the Intermediate campus. Class Holiday parties will be on December 21st. Now that the winter months are upon us, please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for cold weather. Most days we go outside for recess and it is important that they come to school with a coat (with their name in it). School begins at 7:45 am; please make every effort to have them at the appropriate drop off area on time. School will closed for the holidays from December 24 - January 7, 2019 for students. Our Spring Hill Intermediate family would like to wish you and your family a happy holiday and a safe, healthy and happy new year!

Mittens, Hats and Scarves Drive

Dear Parents,

As we approach the winter and holiday season, Spring Hill Intermediate needs your help in collecting at least one of the following items:

Spring Hill Intermediate will be decorating our campus Christmas tree with the above donated items. All of the collected “winter wear” will be donated to someone in need. Please send the unused items to school by December 19th.

Thank you!

Student Council Canned Food Drive

In November, Spring Hill Intermediate Student Council collected canned food items to benefit the House of Hope. There was a tremendous outpouring of support for this cause! A total of 6,541 food items were collected! This is an all-time record for our campus! The top collecting class in each grade level will be treated with a pizza party. Those winners are Mrs. Cloud, Mrs. Spurrier and Mrs. Mayhew's classes. Thank you to everyone that donated food items!

PTA Butter Braid Pastry Fundraiser pick-up

If you sold Butter Braid Pastry items, please pick up the items you sold on December 6th from 2:00-6:00 at the intermediate campus.

Reward incentives will happen December 6th for students who sold items

Buddy Bench

One of our students, Max, came up with a wonderful idea to encourage friendship on our campus. He wrote a letter to Mrs. Cole, our counselor asking for a Buddy Bench to be used on our playground. The bench would allow a place for students to go when they are in need of a friend or are wanting to be a friend of someone new. A BIG SHOUT OUT to our High School Wood Shop for making the bench for this great idea!

Box Tops for Education

Our school is participating in the Box Top for Education Program. Please send Box Tops with your child to school. A collection bin is located outside of the library door. For every 50 Box Top collected, SHI receives $5.00. Our goal is for each of our 500 students to bring 50 or more Box Tops by May. This would benefit our campus by earning approximately $2500.00!
