Signs of Myxomatosis
- red eyes and runny nose
- high fever
- loss of appetite
- tissues become swollen such as the eyes, nose, mouth and ears
Myxomatosis is a severe viral disease that affects rabbits.
Treatment
There is no treatment, just supportive care such as fluids and antibiotics.
Preventions
- Keep your rabbit away from insects
- Don't take your rabbit to any fairs, shows or places where rabbits are brought together
Fact
If the illness is short the rabbit could die within 48 hours, and if the illness lasts longer the rabbit could die within 14 days
