Dr. Hector P. Garcia Middle School

September 18-22, 2017

Greetings Gladiator Community,

We are midway through our first grading period! Students will be issued their first progress report of the school year on September 19th from their 5th period teacher. Since we have transitioned into a new Parent Portal, we will provide a hard copy. Hopefully by the second grading period all parents will be successfully signed up for the Home Access Center (HAC) and be able to see their child's grades electronically.

Parents are invited to attend Navigating Middle School on Monday, September 18th from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM in our cafeteria. Sessions include: Building Good Readers and Good Writers, Learn About Student Google Apps, High School Credited Courses in Middle School and High School Endorsements, Databases and Homework Help, Home Access Center (HAC) Assistance, Cyber Safety, How to Navigate Online Textbooks, and Supporting Your Child in their Transition to Middle School. (Flyer attached.)

If you plan to attend , please RSVP here: https://goo.gl/9X61RX

Our PTA has organized a food drive to benefit Harvey victims. Please bring a food item to our parent presentation on September 18th. If you are unable to attend the parent event, you may send the donation with your child to school on Tuesday. We have large red bins in the front foyer and cafeteria foyer to place items. (Flyer attached.)
