Happy Spring Break Everyone!

Spring break officially starts at 3pm this Friday. Students will return to school on Monday, April 12. In listening to the students, there are many travel plans and vacations upcoming. I wish all of you a restful, fun filled week ahead.

As we move forward in the school year, a couple of quick reminders:

1. Friday, April 2, is the last day of quarter 3. Due to Spring break, report cards will be later than usual. You should receive them no later than April 23. Please call the school if you have concerns.

2. When students return to school on April 12, it will be fourth quarter so students will attend periods 2,4, and 6. Remote and in-person class time will remain the same as third quarter.

Lastly, every spring we participate in state assessment testing. At this point in time, there is not clarity on what testing will look like. I do know that we will test all students who qualify for our English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA) in May. The state is asking for a partial participation waiver for all our students on the Smarter Balanced Assessment. This waiver has not been approved at the time of this writing. Without a waiver, we will test. I will continue to update our Franklin community in a timely fashion.

In closing, enjoy the holiday. Practice covid safety practices-masking, six foot distancing, and washing hands-so that we can continue to work our way out of this pandemic. Be safe and have a great spring break!
