THIRD GRADE NEWS:
Language Arts:
This past week we have begun planning for our lemonade stands. They have brought home a note about earning money to invest in their class stand. Get your "honey do list" ready and use it to your advantage:)
Math
We have concluded all of the Topics and TEKS for 3rd grade math. We will spend the next two weeks reviewing difficult concepts that the students struggled with throughout the year. We are ready to have some fun!
Math/Science - Mrs. Oller & Mrs. Wagner
MATH - We will be reviewing multiple step problems using addition & subtraction and multiplication & division. Please continue to work with your child on learning his/her multiplication facts. We will begin talking about the expectations of our Lemonade Stand project.
We will have homework on Monday & Thursday of this week, only!
SCIENCE - We will take our test over "Food Chains" on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will begin learning about Adaptations. We will focus on the following:
*The structures of plants and animals are adapted to particular environments.
*Structures of some animals, such as the blubber of seals or the fur of rabbits, help some animals survive in cold weather conditions.
*Structures, such as the waxy coating of a cactus or the presence of spines instead of leaves, help these plants survive in hot, dry conditions.
Reading/Writing/ Social Studies - Mrs. Cawthon & Mrs. Myers
Reading-Last week of practice before the STAAR!! We will be incorporating some fun games to continue practicing.
Writing- Expository- Persuasive Writing
Grammar- Review information
Social Studies- We will continue planning our lemonade stands to apply what we have learned in our Economics Unit.
