Knight Times
October 2020
Quasimester 2 Begins Next Week on October 19
Our front office is open Monday-Friday from 9-3 to pick up any materials teachers have asked students to pick up, including the upcoming quasimester's planner pages if you can't print it out yourself.
Reopening School Feedback
There is still time to complete the survey, if you haven't done so yet. Here is the link: Reopening School Survey
Just know that whatever option you choose now, you will have the flexibility to change your mind at a later date.
Knight of Cabaret
Students from the Production Theater class present songs and monologues from famous Broadway shows, and musicals. Join us for a Knight of fun!
Please donate to this wonderful program. All proceeds will go to fund our next musical and play in 2021.

Brick Fundraiser with SHIELD
Representatives on our Shield parent group are offering a unique opportunity for you and your family and/or business to purchase a decorative brick that will be part of our new school for years to come.
These bricks can be personalized to honor a student, a family member, or a business. We know that these are trying times on many levels, but as a supportive parent group, we want to press forward and continue to raise funds that support teachers and offer senior scholarships, among many other things.
We have two different sizes available 4" x 8" for $200 or 8" x 8" for $300.
To place your order, please go to https://4everbricks.com/donors/BUCKINGHAM/
From now until the end of October, we are offering a 50% discount off of these prices. Use item code KNIGHTS2020 to get this discount.
In the coming weeks, you will start to see (when you stop by the school) our display come to life under the school's marquee and we will share photos on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BuckinghamSHIELD (please go and like our page). As we add more bricks there will be other areas on campus that will host our displays.
If you have any questions or want to order off-line please email fundraisingshield@gmail.com.
Reminder regarding School Lunches
Just a reminder in honor of National School Lunch Week: our district is providing pick-up meals for our students. In order to accommodate our new Virtual Learning school hours, the district’s meal times have been adjusted. Please click here to access the schedule.
To apply for Free or Reduced Priced Meals (FRPM), please click here. Applying for FRPM helps with more than just school meals:
- College Applications and SAT Fee reductions: any 11th or 12th grade student that is eligible for FRPM is also for SAT fee waiver. Every income-eligible student who takes the SAT using a test fee waiver can choose four colleges and apply for free
- Internet Service: through a partnership with Comcast, Internet Essentials Program provides internet for less than $10 a month for qualifying families.
You only need to apply once per household. The system is confidential and you are not required to fill out social security numbers. Families need to apply every year, as eligibility expires every September.
Student Engagement During Virtual Learning
One way we are encouraging our students to participate is through our weekly engagement drawings. Student names are entered into a weekly drawing if they:
- earn perfect participation for the week
- are nominated by a staff member for exceptional effort
- complete the daily journal entries in the Grit Guild, an optional schoolwide Google Classroom
Keep up the good work through the end of this quasimester and the next. You got this!
