Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapist works with you to help you achieve a fulfilled life, through, the use of activity designed to achieve functional outcomes which promote health, prevent injury and improve and restore your level of independence. Occupational Therapy is about helping you to do the day-to-day tasks.


Meet our Occupational Therapist Elizabeth Ference who obtained her undergraduate degree in 2005 at University of Georgia for Exercise Science and then went onto to receive her Master's in Occupational Science at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2007.

Since Graduation she has been providing Occupational Therapy services in a variety of settings including Short Term Rehabilitation, Long term Rehabilitation, Outpatient services and Pediatric services. In addition to these settings Elizabeth also was the owner of "Sense-Ability" which provided Therapeutic Horseback Riding services to Pediatrics. Currently working towards her Certification as a Hand Therapist, Elizabeth hopes to expand her abilities even further providing outpatient services for the orthopedic population.

Elizabeth's certifications include: PAMPCA (Physical Agent Modalities Practitioner Credentialing Agency) services, CPR/First Aide Infant and Adult, PATH Instructor Certification (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship), and Level 1 Hippo therapy.

Elizabeth also enjoys the NC mountains and all it has to offer, including gardening, hiking and fishing. She is happily married with 2 daughters. Her greatest enjoyment is spending time with her family and helping others.


Our Therapist will consult with you and the Orthopedic surgeon in charge of the surgery to develop a program that will best suit your expectations. After major orthopedic surgery it is imperative that your able to become independent and able to manage your lifestyle choices.
