
Special Ed. Administrator Finalists

Hingham Public Schools is pleased to announce three finalists for the role of Special Education Administrator.
Staff and community members are invited to participate in two virtual community interviews, details below.
The first finalist is Sheryl Kearns who currently serves as Special Education Department Head for Brockton Public Schools and has been in this role since 2021. Kearns began her career as a Fourth Grade Teacher at the Lillian B. Jacobs School in Hull and then served as a Reading Specialist. In 2008, Kearns transitioned to Brockton Public schools as a Seventh Grade Special Education Teacher until she became Brockton High School’s Special Education Administrator.
Kearns holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater State University and two Master’s Degrees in Education from Eastern Nazarene College. Kearns holds current licensure from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Supervisor/Director Non-Core, Teacher of Students Moderate Disabilities], Special Education Administration, Moderate Disabilities, Reading, Elementary and Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement.
The second finalist is Ann Perzan. Perzan currently serves as Director of Special Education at Preston Public Schools in Connecticut and has been in the role since 2019. Perzan has worked in public education and specifically, special education since 1976. Perzan began her career in public education as a Special Education Teacher and more recently, held several administrator positions including Director for Special Education and Pupil Personnel and Elementary Principal.
Perzan's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master of Science degree from Central Connecticut State University. Perzan holds a teaching certification in Prek-12 Special Education and an Intermediate Administrator Certificate. Find her resume here.
The third finalist is Amy Muldoon. Muldoon, who is currently a Student Service Coordinator with Canton Public Schools, began her career in 1999 as a Third Grade Teacher. Muldoon has also served as Director of Special Education for Dedham Public Schools as well as a public charter school in Washington, DC. Prior to this, Muldoon worked as a Special Education Chairperson and before that, as a Director of Teacher Training and Support.
Muldoon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Catholic University of America, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Trinity College. Additionally, Muldoon holds current licensure for Special Education Administrator, Superintendent, and Principal/Assistant Principal.

Amy Muldoon - Thursday, July 6th at 6:30 PM
