WMS Weekly Warrior
Week of 3-2-20
Good afternoon,
Good afternoon,
March is here and there is a lot happening at WMS. With day light savings comes longer days and shifting activities outdoors. With that, we remind athletes looking to participate in Spring Sports to register on Family ID (https://www.familyid.com/woodbury-middle-school-athletics). Please direct any athletic questions to Chris McGrath (cmcgrath@ctreg14.org), athletic director at WMS.
The WMS Drama club will be presenting the musical “Singin in the Rain” on Friday, March 13th at 7:00 and again on Saturday, with two shows at 2:00 and 7:00. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Please see the promo below for more info.
Eighth grade placement and scheduling meetings will be held March 4th and 5th with Nonnewaug H.S. counselors. Please contact the counseling office if you have not received your scheduled appointment time.
Reminder to all Region 14 families, no school on Friday, March 6th for Teacher Professional Learning.
WMS SCHOOL STORE IS OPEN!
Many of you have asked about placing orders for Woodbury Middle School Spirit Wear. In the past, we used a company that initially worked out very well for us. Unfortunately, the spirit wear order placed this past winter seemed to have an unusual number of problems. Therefore, we have changed vendors for our spirit wear.
Blanchette Sporting Goods is the new vendor we are using for this year’s spring order. We are very familiar with Blanchette’s as they have been serving our athletic departments in Region 14 for many years. We have updated our school store with a new selection of items specifically designed for WMS. For easy access to the store click or paste the link to your browser( https://blanchettesportinggoods.itemorder.com). All items will be shipped directly to the address you provide.
The store is now open and will close on midnight on March 20th. When accessing the store please use our school code WOODBURYMS20. Thank you for your support of Woodbury Middle School.
Last week, we mentioned it was time to have subtle conversation with students about school behavior. Thank you to all who had these conversations with your students. One reminder that was omitted is in regards to cell phones. Students are not allowed to carry cell phones unless given special permission. Cell phones must remain in student locked lockers. Students carrying cell phones without permission will be asked to turn them in to administration and parents may be required to claim them in the office. Thank you for your cooperation of this school policy.

Leo Club Backpack Collection
The Woodbury Middle School Leo Club is collecting lightly used backpacks or drawstring bags as part of a drive to prepare care packages for the less fortunate this winter season. Club members will collect and fill the backpacks/bags with various care and hygiene products, and will deliver them to area shelters for distribution. Care packages will be assembled for men, women, and children, so any style of backpack can be donated.
Any donated bags can be dropped off in the Culinary Arts Room, # 115.
On behalf of the WMS Leo Club, we would like to thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Caroline South and Mike Hadoulis
